Sasha, you can do better.

Too much inside baseball. You throw around too many short hand references without explaining them. Only you two know what you are talking about.

A podcast is supposed to inform the listeners. You are losing them. The message received is you don’t care about your audience.

Listen to the first 5 minutes. Transcribe it and read it. No facts. No context. No agenda. You start talking about the details of a movie without a propper introduction.

Title?

Director?

Actors?

Genre?

Logline?

How do you expect to build an audience when you are so sloppy? Do you prepare at all for these? Your writing is exquisite. Can you at least cover this list of 5 items?

( Am I the only person listening?)

I hope you find this constructive criticism.

Thanks Kurt, I do appreciate that. We tend to record these for people who are all inside baseball already. Most people who listen to this (and have listened to it from years ago when we first started it) are pretty much people who understand the shorthand but it's a good suggestion to think that some listeners might not be!

I don't understand a lot of the Hollywood references because it's not generally my thing, but I enjoy your podcasts because of your erudition. It also tends to be a relaxing thing to listen to on a Sunday evening.
